The Call! |

Volunteers are the backbone
of CONTACT - generously giving their time to provide
a listening ear to those in need. We are always looking
for compassionate, caring individuals who want to
dedicate some of their time to helping other people.
Becoming a CONTACT volunteer affords you the opportunity
to reach out to your neighbors in need, while providing
vital crisis intervention and prevention care to thousands
of community members in crisis. CONTACT telephone
volunteers are here not to give answers or advice
to callers, but to listen to and empower the callers
to make decisions for themselves. |

| CONTACT offers a comprehensive training course for
potential volunteers throughout the year. In addition
to providing the skills necessary to effectively help
callers, the training course also teaches life-enhancing
communications skills that can be invaluable to volunteers
in their own personal and professional lives. There
is a $75 fee to take the course ($55 for Senior Citizens).
We are happy to arrange scholarships if necessary. |
